2012 Election: Thank you for supporting me!

Thank you for your support and votes in the general election on November 6th! I am both humbled and grateful to have the opportunity to represent you on the Forest Preserve Board in District 6.

I did not win this election alone. Many people helped me along the way; too many to list individually. One person does deserves a special thank you: Outgoing District 6 Commissioner Roger Kotecki, whose work over the past 22 years has been instrumental in building the Forest Preserve that DuPage County enjoys today. I am honored to be following in Mr. Kotecki’s footsteps in my new role as your Commissioner.

During my campaign, it was a privilege to talk to many of you about issues related to the Forest Preserve. Now that I am on the Board, I am encouraged by your continued interest in providing me with feedback on what is important to you, the residents of District 6.

Many of you have spoken to me about the need for greater public involvement and continued excellence in natural resources management. During my term as your Commissioner, I promise to do my best to be your voice at the Forest Preserve. I will study the issues. I will listen to you. I will remember that protecting our open space is my foremost duty. I will be cautious when spending your tax dollars. And I will ask for your input before making major decisions.

I am grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust as I represent you on the Forest Preserve Board. I hope to meet more of you in person as I knock on doors and attend public meetings in District 6. Please call or email me: I want to hear about your concerns and ideas and I would welcome the chance to speak with you!
